Week 9 and 10 – B R E A K
Salutations,
This will be a collection of what we have done during the duration of our term break – 14621 to 27621 – and we'll also be sharing obstacles we have come along the way.
Firstly, Lighting. Koda has experimented on the lights, shaders and texturing to achieve the desired Toon shading stylize lights. However, this requires some tinkering with the Arnold Rendering engine on Maya. It had to be an AiToon material, followed by a tweak on the render settings' filter to be set to "contour"
The struggle here is the rendering duration. We might need to utilise one of us three' macbooks to prioritize rendering the entire scene with the animation.
Secondly, Rigging. SuQin has been trying to rig the characters but with some difficulty. These are mechanical robots that we are animating, in which we have found difficulty rigging although it might seem easy compared to organic creatures. Our help in this matter is still pending this since there has been... changes.
SuQin has also done the texturing for both characters, all they need now is the toon shading.
